Booking Terms
Last updated: 29 September 2026
These Booking Terms & Cancellation/Refund Policy ("Booking Terms") apply to bookings of Travel Services made through Honoot and form part of our Terms of Service.
1. Our Role
1.1 Unless a listing says that Honoot itself is the seller, Honoot acts as a booking agent between you and the Supplier (hotel, activity operator, transport provider, or similar). The contract for the Travel Service is between you and the Supplier.
1.2 Honoot does not sell packaged tours as the operator under these Booking Terms. If that changes, we will say so on the listing before you pay, and we will publish any licence that the law then requires.
2. Booking Process
2.1 A booking is only confirmed once you receive a booking confirmation from Honoot (via email/app notification) and full or deposit payment has been successfully processed.
2.2 You are responsible for checking that the names, dates, and destination on the confirmation are correct, and for telling us promptly if they are not.
2.3 Availability and pricing are controlled by Suppliers and may change without notice until a booking is confirmed.
3. Pricing and Payment
3.1 The price, currency, taxes, and any Honoot service fee are shown before you pay.
3.2 Card payments are processed by a payment provider (including Stripe where card checkout is offered). Honoot does not store your full card number. By paying, you also accept that provider's terms for the payment itself.
3.3 Some bookings may require a deposit with the balance due before the travel date; this will be disclosed at checkout.
4. Cancellation by You
4.1 Cancellation terms (including any cancellation fees) are set by the Supplier and disclosed at the time of booking, on the booking confirmation, and in your account under "My Bookings."
4.2 There is no Honoot-wide refund percentage. The Supplier's cancellation rule shown before you pay is the rule for that booking. If the screen does not show a cancellation rule, do not complete the booking until it does.
4.3 To cancel, use the cancel control in the app or email support@honoot.app. A cancellation takes effect when we receive it.
4.4 Honoot's service fee (if separately charged) is non-refundable except where the booking is cancelled due to Honoot's or the Supplier's fault.
5. Cancellation or Change by Supplier / Honoot
5.1 If a Supplier cancels, materially changes, or cannot fulfil a confirmed booking, you are entitled to a full refund of amounts paid for that booking, or, where offered and accepted by you, a comparable alternative.
5.2 Where required under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 and the Consumer Protection (Electronic Trade Transactions) Regulations 2012, you retain all statutory rights regardless of any inconsistent term in this Policy.
6. Force Majeure
6.1 Neither Honoot nor the Supplier is liable for failure to perform obligations due to events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, government travel restrictions, pandemics, strikes, or civil unrest ("Force Majeure Event").
6.2 In a Force Majeure Event, we will work with the Supplier to offer rebooking, credit, or refund options as made available by the Supplier, but cannot guarantee a full refund where the Supplier itself does not offer one.
7. Refund Processing
7.1 Approved refunds are sent to the original payment method. We aim to start that refund within 14 business days after the Supplier and the payment provider release it. Your bank may take longer to show the credit.
7.2 Refunds may be reduced by non-recoverable third-party transaction fees, where applicable and disclosed.
8. Disputes and Chargebacks
8.1 If a Travel Service goes wrong, email support@honoot.app as soon as you can so we can take it up with the Supplier.
8.2 Initiating a chargeback with your bank without first attempting resolution through Honoot may delay resolution and, where the dispute is found unwarranted, may result in account suspension.
9. Travel Documents and Requirements
9.1 You are solely responsible for ensuring you and your travel companions hold valid passports, visas, vaccination certificates, and any other documents required for your trip. Honoot is not liable for denied boarding, entry, or service due to inadequate documentation.
10. Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover trip cancellation, medical emergencies, and travel disruption. Honoot does not provide insurance unless explicitly offered as an add-on at checkout.
11. Liability for Travel Services
11.1 Where Section 1.1 applies, Honoot is not the supplier of the Travel Service and is not liable for the Supplier's acts, omissions, or insolvency, except where Malaysian law, including the Consumer Protection Act 1999, does not allow that limit.
11.2 Nothing in this Policy excludes liability that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 or other mandatory Malaysian consumer protection law.
12. Governing Law
These Booking Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia and subject to the dispute resolution process in the Terms of Service, Section 14.
